Meeting with scholarship holders

On January 19, the 18 female scholarship holders studying at BVF met in Manila for a valuable exchange. Without exception, all of them are very successful in their studies, one has completed her degree and two others will graduate this year. Seven are in their first year of study. It was very interesting to hear their different impressions and experiences. Joanna Ligan, for example, is the only woman on her Industrial Technology-Electronics course. Sharra Brieva maintains contact between the scholarship holders.

Eight Additional Scholarship Recipients

On January 11 and 12, 2025, eight more young women were able to impress at this year's assessment and were awarded a university scholarship of their choice. To be eligible, they must be accepted into a state university in the Philippines. They will begin their studies in the fall of 2025 or 2026

Congratulations Sharra!

October 2024 we have something to celebrate: The first scholar of Bona Via Foundation graduated as “Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering”. Her theises "Optimizing Solar-Powered Efficiency: A Smart Clothesline Retrieval System Integrated with Internet of Things Technology," was successfully defended. We are very happy, send our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for Sharra’s future.

We are mourning the loss of Dr. Klaus Lampe

The founder and Chairman of the Board of the Bona Via Foundation passed away on February 6, 2024 in Stuttgart at the age of 92. Until his last day, it was his great concern not to accept poverty without action. He and his wife had experienced poverty in many parts of the world. They were convinced that poverty could only be overcome in the long term through education. Together they financed around 30 privately organized scholarships. After his wife's death, Dr. Lampe wanted to further develop the fulfilment of his heart's desire and to put it on a secure basis. At the age of 90, he finally established the Bona Via Foundation. Since then, 28 scholarships have been awarded to young women who are on the road to success: Bona Via!
We will continue his work in his spirit. Thank you, Klaus!

Girlstown Scholarships 2024

In January 2024, the time had come again: after the written application in December 2023, we were able to invite 30 applicants to an intensive assessment. We got to know highly motivated and talented young women. After two days filled with various tasks and interviews, the six-member jury decided to award a further ten scholarships: five Annemarie Lampe Scholarships and five Biga Bright Futures Scholarships. The next step towards studying is the entrance examination at a state university in the Philippines. The targeted start of studies will then be 2025. The targeted subjects include agricultural science, civil engineering and medicine.

Girlstown Scholarships 2023

BVF has already awarded 18 scholarships to Girlstown high school graduates.

Eight of them are already studying, while three others have received a study place at a state
university and will begin their studies in the summer of 2023. The remaining seven scholarship
recipients prevailed in an assessment center in January 2023 and will now take the entrance exams
for a place at university and begin their studies in 2024. The kick-off has been a success!

Meeting with the scholarship holders since 2020

In January 2023, an exchange took place with the eight BVF scholarship holders already studying in Manila. Impressively, the young women shared their their achievements, but also difficulties in their studies and everyday life. Particularly challenging for them were the early days in their studies with corona-related distance learning.
